    Tabs Direct Orders 8-Color QUANTUM 1500XP Web Offset Press

    STAFFORD, TX, Feb. 22, 2002 – Tabs Direct, a business unit of Omnicom Group, announced it has ordered a Quantum 1500XP 8-Color Web Offset Press from Sanden USA, Inc.  The new press will be equipped with three sets of variable-size print repeat components, UV drying, remote ink and register controls, and a 50” turret rewind.

    Transcontinental Printing USA Orders Sanden 8-Color Quantum 1500 Web Press

    Willow Grove, PA -- Transcontinental Printing USA, a unit of G.T.C. Transcontinental Group Ltd., Montreal, Quebec, has placed an order for an 8-color Quantum 1500XP web offset press from Sanden Machine Ltd.  The new variable-size, 27” wide press will be equipped with UV dryers, remote ink and register controls, fan-folder, and a commercial high-pile sheeter.

    CHICAGO – KAR Printing announced it has purchased a new Quantum 1500SP 5-unit variable-size perfecting web offset press from Sanden Machine at PRINT 01.
      

    The new 24” wide press, equipped with five variable-size perfecting printing units, sheeter and signature folder, will compliment KAR’s production capabilities in its three strategically located printing facilities in Florida, Georgia, and Pennsylvania, including twelve half and full web press lines.

    Herndon, VA—Sanden Machine Ltd. will introduce a new variable-size perfecting UV web offset press at PRINT 01.  

    The new press named Quantum 1500-SP, is rated at 1,500 feet per minute and is available in four web widths ranging from 21-38 inches.  Print repeats are variable via quick-change print cassette inserts.  Quantum 1500-SP is the world's first variable-size perfector, specifically designed for high-performance UV printing as well as heat-set applications.  The company's new press, boasting a theme of bridging the gap between sheetfed quality but with the cost savings and productivity of web offset printing technology, can be viewed in action at booth 964.

    PRINT 01 is the largest, most comprehensive trade show held in the world this year for graphic design, digital prepress, printing, publishing, and converting technology. It will encompass nearly 900,000 net square feet within McCormick Place and play host to a projected 75,000 industry professionals from throughout the United States and more than 100 countries around the globe.     Quad/Graphics Newest Press Runs Roll-to-Roll

    Quad/Graphics is on a roll, literally, with its newest Quantum 1500 UV web offset press from Sanden Machine – the company’s first roll-to-roll press.  Employees in Quad’s West Allis plant got their first glimpse of the 10-color press during a start-up celebration held Wednesday, June 27.

    “This is a versatile machine,” Mike Popp, vice president of press operations, told employees and other guests in attendance.  “It has a variable cutoff.  We can change size of product by changing the size of the print cassettes.  It can print on paper as well as film, foil and labels.  It can do in-line perfing and gluing and apply spot varnish.  Truly, it’s a unique piece of equipment.”
